Check out News every month or so for general info, progress reports on future stories and maybe some teasers and sneek peeks at art etc.

Hey there! A few hours late for today's update... and not without good reason! Today marks the end of Ghost Story. I really hope you have enjoyed it - I certainly enjoyed writing and drawing it! I'd like to thank Steven Wintle for making the character he created available in the public domain. So I was finishing off today's page - but I was also getting some other goodies ready for you... :)
A pic of Tash and Willow in toon style...
Plus some 'fan art' - one pic by Troy Smith of Scandal Sheet, and a pic by me of one of Troy's characters. All done as part of the Keenspace Historical Romance Crossover Event.
If this is your first visit to this site... the current story starts here.
Other recent L&Z stories include:
- 3 Hour Tour (3 pages)
- Frank.cam (30 pages)
The other news is that I'll be taking five weeks break from drawing duties so there won't be any new updates over that period. Sorry folks - I really need a holiday! I will be working on the next Loxie & Zoot story...called 'Crush' and featuring Nick. I'll be kicking off with a few Noodtoons on July 26 before getting into some birthday celebrations for L&Z and then getting underway with Crush. Expect a few changes to the look of the site and comic (nothing too drastic)... and check back before then for some more info on things in general. Have a great month and a bit (I know I will... Darwin, here I come!) June 14, 2004
Yay! Well again... many thanks to all the readers who sent in their well wishes. :) So the good news is I have an update (I kinda dropped the potato just before the finish line, sorry about that). One more page to go. The next update, which will see the conclusion of this story, will be on Friday 18 June. I'll still be taking a break after that, but the good news (for you, anyway) is that it will only be for 5 weeks. I had been feeling a bit unclear about what to do with Loxie & Zoot after Ghost Story had finished... being sick, despite the unpleasantness of it all, gave me a bit of time to ponder things and it's helped to clear up a few mental blocks - but I still need the time off to regroup as it were.
And wow! Thanks for the votes this last week! Over a 100! That really made me feel better!
See you Friday! June 10, 2004
Gah - you have no idea how close the latest page is from being finished... but I'm sick as a dog (as we say here in Australia) and it's about all I can manage to sit at my Mac for a few minutes to type in this apology! So, sorry - I think page #14 of Ghost Story won't happen until Monday 14th June... perhaps now would be a good time to read thru the archives... :) The current story starts here. June 9, 2004
Sorry folks - feeling rather unwell today, so haven't been able to finish the latest page. Hoping it will be ready and online tomorrow. June 7, 2004
I had a totally wild time drawing and colouring this page - hope ya like it! The end of the current story is drawing near... only two more pages to go - updates are on Wednesday and Friday. I'm planning on taking a six week break from cartooning duties from next week - to work on a variety of things, including the next few Loxie & Zoot stories. Sorry that this will leave you a bit high and dry for new toons but from where I see it, a break will help me produce a quality comic and I've been starting to 'tread water' a bit lately... going from page to page without dealing with new stories and website development (and real life things) and the like. At any rate - six weeks will go like nothing else (will probably seem like six days for me!) - and will deliver us to within two weeks of Loxie & Zoot's first birthday at Keenspace... more info on a birthday extravaganza to be revealed this Friday. Many thanks to everyone for their support - Loxie & Zoot is currently at #26 overall at Keenspace and #1 in the Keenspace Top 100 for two weeks in a row (you guys and gals rule, thanks for voting!)
May 24, 2004 Loxie & Zoot gets a mention in a Comixpedia article on Nudity in Webcomics. And thanks so much for all the votes... almost 100 of them this week! Woohoo!

Some L&Z stories you might have recently missed include:
- 3 Hour Tour (3 pages)
- Frank.cam (30 pages)
May 10, 2004
We're kicking off a new story today which I feel pretty excited about cos it features an 'out of town' comic character... in fact, she's open source and multidimensional! Hope you enjoy Ghost Story over the next five weeks.
[The character of Jenny Everywhere is available for use by anyone, with only one condition... this paragraph must be included in any publication involving Jenny Everywhere, in order that others may use this property as they wish. All rights reversed.]
Also, if you haven't read them already, don't forget to catch the recent guest Noodtoons (and the comics of their creators):
- Srdjan Achimovich [#5 - The Secret of Public Speaking...]: McDuffies
- Phactorri [#4 - Aye, there's the rub]: Decypher
- NoemZ [#3 - Just Shy, OK?]: Zeera - the Space Pirate
- Orion [#2 - Dance of Nature]: Beyond Reality
- Michael Kenner [#1 - Wipeout!]: The More Things Change (offline)
May 7, 2004
Noodtoon #10 was drawn for Going Natural - a Canadian nudist magazine. It was published in the latest spring 2003-04 issue. Hey, I hope you've enjoyed the last couple of weeks of guest toons... gave me break from the drawing table! Many thanks again to the guest cartoonists. BTW - don't forget I have a fan art section (hint hint!).
Next week sees the beginning of Ghost Story... a 15 page tale featuring Jenny Everywhere!
Some L&Z stories you might have recently missed include:
- 3 Hour Tour (3 pages)
- Frank.cam (30 pages)
May 5, 2004
Today's guest toon is by Srdjan Achimovich the cartoonist behind McDuffies - an ongoing tale of intertwining adventures and stories. (According to Srdjan, it tastes like soap!) It was great to get a guest comic in B&W... it's a style I used to use a lot but not much since Photoshop. Many thanks Srdjan (loved the arrow pointing to the plate of cucumbers... and that underwear was great)! Anyhow, huge thank yous to all the cartoonists who helped out this last couple of weeks. On Friday I have a Noodtoon which I drew. See you then.
May 3, 2004
Today's guest toon was rendered by Phactorri the cartoonist of Decypher - it's about the little things in life we miss, centered around a coffee shop. Many thanks Phactorri! The toon features Elspeth and Ronnie the two goth gals previously seen here and here. I reckon Phactorri did a great job at rendering their goth-ness! New artist on Wednesday...
It was remiss of me to not mention that the characters from Friday's comic were Craig and Jen - who featrured in The Koala Bares as the hubby eager to get into the nudist vibe of the open day, and the wife who couldn't wait to get out of there! This page will allow you to follow their thread of the story!
April 30, 2004
Today's guest toon was rendered by NoemZ the cartoonist of Zeera - the Space Pirate - it's about the adventures of... well... Zeera the space pirate! It's great, check it out. Many thanks NoemZ! (love that dog in the last frame!!). New artist on Monday...
April 28, 2004
Today's guest toon was a Keenspace General Discussion Team-up April Fool's present from Orion, who also created the comic Beyond Reality - the adventures of a brother and sister travelling between the planes of reality. Orion wrote and drew this beauty himself - thanks a million!
April 26, 2004
The next five updates will feature guest Keenspace artists... I wrote the script and they drew the toons. I'm hugely indebted to their efforts! Today's Noodtoon was drawn by Michael Kenner - his regular comic The More Things Change is currently out of commission so I can't link to it. An interesting point to today's comic is that it features Beach Inspector Dude who was previously seen here - kicking around Queensland. Has he moved to Koala Bay to harass our nudists? With that prtly figure and handlebar mo, I wonder if he isn't a relative of Tex's? Time will tell...
I was totally flat out working on Frank.cam - three updates a week was a lot more work than I'd anticipated - so these guest spots give me the chance to take a breather of sorts and get started on the next L&Z tale Ghost Story... which will feature a special guest. Well, special for me 'cos copyright considerations usually stop characters from other comics simply dropping in... but not this time. And she was fun to write a story for. Those of you who know of Jenny Everywhere will know what I'm blathering about! Anyway, Ghost Story will kick off from May 10. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the guest Noodtoons!
I've just updated Feedback and Links so you might like to check those out!
That's enough news for now ain't it?
April 23, 2004
OK - like I said... short and silly! Hope you liked it. We might see more of our 'castaways' again some day... :)
For the next couple of weeks I'll be taking a break from the drawing duties... and some other Keenspace cartoonists have kindly stepped up to have a bat at some Noodtoons while I work on Ghost Story.
April 19, 2004
Looking for Frank.cam? It finished last week (to the highest number of visitors yet I might add!) - best go check it out via the archive :)
This week: something short and silly... so just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...!
April 16, 2004
If this is your first visit to Loxie & Zoot you're catching the last page of a 30 page story - you can start at the beginning from here. In fact, maybe all you regular readers might also like to take some time out to have a read through the whole story now it's finished.
Hope you've enjoyed Frank.cam - let me know your thoughts....
(or at least give L&Z a vote in the Keenspace Top 100!)
Next week something short and silly... 'A Three Hour Tour'... see you then!
Oh... and a year or so ago it was Birthday Suit Day over on Elf Only Inn - check it out and then check out the rest of this great Keenspace webcomic by Josh Sortelli!
April 4, 2004
A big hello to everyone dropping in via Online comics - hope you take a bit of time to check out the toons and like what you see! Another Keenspace comic worth checking out is The Jaded by Ping Teo - action, adventure, danger... for hire! Need I say more?!
March 29, 2004
I reckon there's about 7 or 8 hours worth of work in today's page - no kidding! So I hope it takes you more than 30 seconds to read!! ;) Anyway, it was remiss of me not to mention that last Friday's ep was the 150th page of L&Z... wooohoo!!
March 26, 2004
If you're new to L&Z - the quickest way to get to the start of this particular story is here.
March 22, 2004
It's been a big week for Loxie & Zoot - hitting #1 twice on the Top 100 - many thanks to all who voted. Now that the list is updated daily, the competition has toughened up a bit! There are some other great webcomics in the Top 100 - not all of them might be to your tastes - but you never know...! (In particular, I recommend Fallen Angels, Used Books and Zeera the Space Pirate). Loxie & Zoot's readership has increased hugely over the last few of weeks too - so thanks for spreading the word. Our next nood tale 'Ghost Story' will start in May... but more on that, and its special guest star, in a week or so!
March 12, 2004
Today brings us to the halfway mark of Frank.cam - if things look like they're just getting interesting... wait till next week! Hope you're enjoying the story at any rate. Thanks everyone for your votes... things were a bit hiccuppy on the Top 100 for a while there but seem to have sorted themselves out again... and they've even gotten rid of those annoying pop-ups! (always a bonus)
February 27, 2004
Some readers have said they do not get any pictures, just the red x/ missing pic symbol. Keenspace has provided an answer -click here for more info. Hope that helps!
February 26, 2004
Of course, the day I say the voting link is kaput it comes back to life again! So if you can bare (heh, no pun intended) the pop-up ads (sorry about that folks, not my call) feel free to vote away! :)
February 23, 2004
The vote link to the Keen Top 100 seems kaput - not just for Loxie & Zoot, but for all other comics jockeying for a top spot. I had hoped it might have fixed itself by now - but for the time being save yourself a click! Thanks to all those who have tried in vain of late - I'll let you know if and when it's functional again.
February 12, 2004
Auto update at Keenspace is working again, so crisis over... remember to check out the 'Keen Krisis' link if there's ever any more problems.
February 9, 2004
Kicking off the start of Frank.cam... all going to plan it should take ten weeks. Hope you enjoy it... the story may seem a bit more serious than what has gone before, but there should still be some laughs and fun along the way. Let me know!
February 6, 2004
Yeah, I know you'd almost think this webcomic was called 'Willow' rather than 'Loxie & Zoot'! Today's toon, like Noodtoon #1, is a one page excerpt from It's A Nood, Nood, Nood World. It won't be making its way into the rejigged version so I thought I'd stick it in here (with a couple of modifications) instead. Next week... Frank.cam kicks off - a brand new story featuring... err... Willow!
February 2, 2004
Apologies for the 'break in transmission' for a few days last week... I had the updates loaded and ready to go but unfortunately Keenspace crashed (or something) and wasn't doing any updates for a few days. To get around any future recurrance, I'll be installing a 'Keen Krisis' link which will fill in during emergencies!
Hope you've been enjoying the Noodtoons, there's one more week of these single page toons left until the next story starts on 9 February. In the meantime, if you liked the Goth Gals from 28/1 and 30/1, you should check out their Candid Bares pic!
Also, thanks to all readers who've been voting for Loxie & Zoot in the Keenspace Top 100... we hit #2 yesterday (that's twice now)! Being in the top ten of the list helps increase traffic to the site, so it's an easy way for you to get the word out to other people... and you can vote every time you visist this site! :D
January 28, 2004
Two guest characters in today's Noodtoon... very possibly you can spot one of them in the background of this page! :D Also, you might have also remembered today's Noodtoon was one of the b&w line art previews I posted a few weeks back...
January 26, 2004
Noodtoon #4 probably takes place sometime shortly before Part 5 of The Koala Bares!
January 23, 2004
Noodtoon #3 is a redraw of a cartoon originally published in The Australian Naturist in 2001 - it accompanied an article on late night nude walks! Timeline-wise, this toon takes place before Loxie and Zoot move to the Koala Bares.
January 21, 2004
Noodtoon #2 was drawn for Going Natural - a Canadian nudist magazine. It was published in the latest winter 2003-04 issue.
January 19, 2004
Noodtoon #1 is the first page of It's A Nood, Nood, Nood World which originally followed the end of The Koala Bay Bares in 2002. That story has been rejigged and will reappear late 2004 (without this page which I though stood alone well enough).
January 16, 2004
And so ends The Koala Bares storyline - hope you enjoyed it! Don't forget you can buy a copy of it for your reading pleasure (your purchase also helps me to continue making more Loxie & Zoot comics! I'd like that, and I'm sure you would too!). From next week, the updates go to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - and for three weeks I'll be running Noodtoons... single page comics, spotlighting various characters and life in and around the Koala Bay Bares. After that...mid-Feb... we kick off a new story!
January 9, 2004 Previews! Can't say much more than that really!
January 8, 2004
I've had some excellent feedback the last couple of days. And another great review - this time by a cartoonist peer. Cool! BTW - don't forget I have a fan art section (hint hint!)
January 4, 2004
Don't know about where you are, but it's really hot here in Sydney today!! I've added a Guest Art section to Stuff - featuring art I've done for other comics... in this instance Zeera the Space Pirate and The Pantheon. Also I've ditched the LiveJournal 'forum', mainly because I've been too busy with drawing to keep it up to date or pay it much attention. If Keenspace ever fulfills my forum request then you may still one day see a proper Loxie & Zoot forum!
December 29, 2003
Moving quickly towards the end of 2003 and of The Koala Bares. From January 19 2004 I'll be starting new material (although I realise that, for many of you, this is your first time round with L&Z so it all seems like new material anyway). That's the good news - the bad news is that, from Jan 19, I'll also be switching from five updates per week to three updates - on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Oh well... happy nude year!
December 20, 2003
Notched up my 100th page at Keenspace yesterday (wheee!) - of course, that means there's only 20 pages left to go of The Koala Bares. I've been working on new material for next year and will have some sneak previews available in early 2004. For those who have voted for Loxie and Zoot - thanks heaps! We actually hit #2 for a brief moment this week. Updates will continue over Christmas and New Year and, for those of you into the seasonal festivities... a message from Santa's Sauna!
December 13, 2003
Joined the Keenspace Super 100 last week - thanks so much to everyone who has voted for Loxie & Zoot... it's zipped to the #5 spot! And of course, if you want to, you can vote everytime you drop by! :)
December 11, 2003
It's birthday week (birthweek??) for The Pantheon - I've drawn a "Happy Birthday" card featuring Gaia, goddess of earth and nature. Not sure if it counts as fanart since I don't think she's ever featured in the comic. Timmeryn liked it anyway and has put it online... check it out!
December 3, 2003
She's sassy and even sometime's classy... but she's not that good at being a pirate. Oh well, two out three ain't bad! That's right... I'm talkin' about Zeera the Space Pirate the creation of fellow Aussie Keenspacer NoemZ! My four part guest strip gets an outing on her site from today (or tomorrow depending on how the auto update synchs up)... check it out!
November 16, 2003
Major revamp of, and additions to, Stuff - candid character art, ye olde Noodtoons, previoulsy published toons and heaps more! Also added some Links.
October 31, 2003
Well, we passed the halfway mark in the Koala Bares saga a few days ago. Another six weeks to go til it wraps up! I've been working on heaps of new material that will start once the current story concludes - a 30 page Willow story, several one page funnies and a ten pager in which a special guest drops in and finds themselves in the midst of a some ghostly goings-on. Also drew a quarter page toon for Canadian mag 'Going Natural'... you'll get a chance to see it online here in early 2004. More on those developments and others, with some previews in a few more weeks!
September 22, 2003
Started up a Miscellaneous Noods Gallery in Stuff!
September 11, 2003 Finally got around to adding some Feedback! Thanks to everyone who's written in so far. I've also sold a few copies of the book this week... which is cool!
September 9, 2003 Noods Gallery added to Stuff... thumbnail pics from the original serialisation.
August 18, 2003 See You At The Forums added to Stuff... eavesdropping on what others say about Loxie & Zoot!
August 5, 2003 Seem to have worked out the basics of all this Keenspace stuff and have launched loxieandzoot.keenspace (small cheer from me, for me).
First story to hit the web is The Koala Bares. I wrote and drew Bares over 1999-2002. From 2000-02 I serialised it at loxieandzoot.com. Excessive bandwidth charges meant I couldn't keep all 120 pages online - but I'm hoping to do that on the Keenspace server. I expect to update every weekday (so 5 new pages a week!). At that rate it'll still take me 24 weeks to put it all online. If you can't wait to see how it turns out you can always buy the book (120 glossy colour pages! Mmmmm... glossy...).
I am working on new material which I hope to serialise once The Koala Bares is complete. Readers from the old site will be familiar with It's a Nood, Nood, Nood World at loxieandzoot.com which I got into about 25 pages of before taking off-line. This is one of the stories I'm working on and redeveloping. Expect to see it in early 2004!
